Homemade smoothies are a great way to get a whole lot of health benefits in one little glass, plus by making them yourself, you have total control over what goes into them. All you need is a blender and you can make a delicious, nutritious drink for breakfast or any time of day.

Banana Cherry Dream

The avacado in this recipe is a nutrient-dense addition, plus it acts as a booster to help your body absorb all the vitamin A in the spinach.

1/2 Cup Frozen Cherries

1/2 Avacado

1 Cup Spinach

1 Small Banana

1 Tbsp Wheat Germ

1/3 Cup Apple Juice

Tropical Goodness

This combination packs a lot of vitamins and minerals in with the addition of all the fruit, but please note if you want a berry mixture that includes strawberries, I strongly recommend going organic. The chia seeds in this recipe are considered a super-food, due to their high protein, high fiber and omega-3s; but it’s important to soak them in water for a few minutes before adding them. Add inĀ  your coconut oil and and almond milk and this ones loaded with healthy fats!

1/2 Cup Frozen Mixed Berries

1/2 Cup Frozen Pineapple

1 Small Banana

1 Tbsp Coconut Oil

1 Tbsp Chia Seeds

1/3 Cup Almond Milk

Cool Cucumber

Another one that blends in some super-healthy leafy greens:

1/2 Cup Frozen Pineapple Chunks

1 Cup Spinach

1/2 Chopped Cucumber

1/2 Cup Coconut Water

Little Bit of Everything

I like to think of this as a multi-vitamin in a glass, with lots of healthy fats!

1/2 Avacado

1 Tbsp Honey

Creamy Yogurt Smoothie

This is my protein shake smoothie, thanks to the high protein content of the Greek yogurt. Pour in your almond milk and you’re adding even more calcium plus some vitamin D:

1/3 Cup Plain Greek Yogurt

1/3 Cup Frozen Mixed Berries

1/3 Cup Almond Milk
